Social Ways of Killing a Body
No one is born a sicario, a hitman. It is daily practices that make possible the serial murder of people and in which they are classified as exterminable stocks. Murdered bodies suffer slow deaths, and are never the mechanical result of victimizers against victims. It is a whole complexity of violent realities, many Latin American countries are going through in 21st century. Behind them there are every day processes; as it is the colonial relations between differences; as it is gender hierarchies and the hypersexualization of bodies; as it is the labor abuse. It is a network of procedures, without any one being the priority, without any one being the origin of the others. This talk will focus on the social, economic and political dynamics that make cruel violence possible as a form to participate in decadent capitalism in Latin America.

Die Ringvorlesung Risse im Raum. Gewaltsame Verhältnisse zwischen multiplen Brüchen & Verschiebungen verhandelt existierende Machtgefüge, die gesellschaftliche Ordnungen immer wieder aufs Neue herstellen, diese regulieren und auch transformieren. Vom Körper bis zur global scale werden Wechselverhältnisse aufgezeigt und wie sich darin die unterschiedlichen Elemente konstituieren, bedingen und sich räumlich auch zueinander unterscheiden. Die Vorlesungsreihe ermöglicht uns das Verknüpfen unterschiedlicher theoretischer-konzeptioneller Ansätze; dies auch, um aus der Gegenwart heraus mögliche Zukunftsprognosen zu tätigen. Sie folgt darin der Einsicht, dass das, was wird, nicht ist, was einmal war.
